Bequests

Bequests are written statements directing gifts to a charity. Over our 275 year history, many individuals have provided for the Library Company in their wills including James Rush and Anne Hampton Brewster. Bequests may be specific amounts, percentages, residual bequests, or contingent bequests.

It is important to use the appropriate testamentary language in your will when making a bequest. Also keep in mind that some property passes outside of your will including property held in an IRA or qualified retirement plan, life insurance proceeds, and property held in a trust. Please feel free to contact our development staff at 215-546-3181 ext 133 for more information or for examples of testamentary language.
